Insurance Philosophy

At IAS, we see insurance as a relationship, not a transaction. It’s built on knowing you well enough to protect what matters most — and staying close enough to adjust when life changes. We’ve been doing this since 1973, and while our methodology may have modernised, our core approach hasn’t wavered: understand your life first, then design your cover around it.

Why does IAS ask so many questions before recommending cover?

Because good insurance advice starts with understanding your life, not just your assets. We take time to learn about your work, your family, your goals and the risks that are specific to you. That means the cover we recommend isn’t generic — it’s designed around your circumstances, whether you’re protecting your income, your family’s future or your business.

How do you balance the right cover with what people can afford?

Insurance should support your financial progress, not work against it. We’re always conscious of cost when recommending cover, and we look for ways to structure it smartly — whether that’s holding certain policies inside super, accessing tax efficiencies, or adjusting your cover as your needs evolve. The goal is meaningful protection that doesn’t squeeze your cash flow.

What should I actually be insuring?

We help you focus on protecting what you can’t afford to lose. For most people, that starts with income protection — your ability to earn is your most valuable asset. Beyond that, it might include life cover, total and permanent disability, trauma cover, or business risk protection. We’ll never push unnecessary products. Everything we recommend is tailored and strategic, based on where you are in your life and what you’re building towards.

What happens after my cover is set up?

We stay in your corner. Insurance isn’t something you set and forget — your life changes, and your cover should change with it. Whether it’s a new job, a growing family, a property purchase or a health event, we’ll review your protection regularly and help you navigate claims when you need to. Our relationship with you doesn’t end when the policy starts.

How does insurance fit into my broader financial plan?

Insurance is one piece of the picture, not a separate conversation. At IAS, your cover is designed to work alongside your investment strategy, your super, and your long-term goals — whether you’re in the early stages of building wealth or approaching retirement. It’s all connected, and we plan it that way.

Want a second opinion on your current cover?

If you’re not sure whether your existing insurance still fits your life, we’re happy to take a look. No obligation, no pressure — just honest, tailored advice from a team that’s been doing this for decades.
